Candidate Terms of Engagement
TERMS OF ENGAGEMENT FOR CANDIDATES
SEEKING OVERSEAS EMPLOYMENT
All services offered by Teach Across Borders LTD (“TAB”) to individuals seeking overseas teaching employment are governed exclusively by these Terms of Engagement. By registering with TAB or requesting assistance in finding employment abroad, you confirm your acceptance of these Terms.
1. Definitions
Candidate: An individual seeking employment abroad through TAB’s recruitment services.
Client: A school or organisation engaging TAB to introduce teaching candidates for overseas employment.
Candidate Data: Personal data relating to a Candidate, either supplied directly or lawfully obtained by TAB.
Data Protection Law: Applicable UK and international data protection laws, including the UK GDPR and Data Protection Act 2018.
TAB: Teach Across Borders LTD, a company registered in England and Wales.
2. Candidate Obligations
2.1 Candidates must provide:
- An up-to-date CV
- Proof of identity
- Qualifications, experience and references
- Any additional documentation reasonably requested
2.2
By providing this information, the Candidate consents to its use and sharing with prospective Clients.
2.3
Candidates confirm that all information submitted is accurate and current.
2.4
Candidates must not act in a way that could damage the reputation of TAB or its Clients.
2.5
Any relevant changes in circumstances must be immediately disclosed to TAB.
2.6
Candidates agree to inform TAB upon receiving an employment offer and share the offer details.
2.7
TAB bears no responsibility if a Client withdraws a job offer at any time.
2.8
TAB is not liable for any loss incurred by a Candidate who resigns from a current position based on a potential role.
2.9
TAB reserves the right to share concerns about a Candidate’s suitability with a Client if necessary.
2.10
The Candidate is solely responsible for securing appropriate travel documents, visas and complying with laws in the destination country.
2.11
TAB is not responsible for any aspect of the Candidate’s employment contract with the Client.
3. TAB’s Responsibilities
3.1
TAB will make reasonable efforts to match suitable vacancies to Candidates.
3.2
There is no guarantee of employment or introduction to a Client.
3.3
TAB does not warrant the suitability of any job opportunity.
3.4
Offers may be contingent on reference checks or background screening.
3.5
All recruitment services offered to Candidates are provided free of charge.
3.6
TAB acts as an Employment Agency as defined by the Employment Agencies Act 1973.
4. Data Protection
4.1
TAB may process Candidate Data for the purposes of recruitment and job matching.
4.2
Candidate Data may include sensitive personal data (e.g. health or criminal background), which will be processed in line with applicable Data Protection Law.
4.3
TAB will act as a data processor in handling Candidate Data in accordance with its Privacy Policy.
4.4
Candidates warrant they have the right to provide any personal data shared with TAB.
5. Force Majeure Neither party will be held liable for delays or failures resulting from circumstances beyond their reasonable control.
6. Notices Notices must be in writing and delivered by post or email to the registered address provided. Delivery is deemed effective upon sending or after 48 hours if posted.
7. Waiver Failure to enforce any part of these Terms does not constitute a waiver of any rights.
8. Severability If any term is deemed unenforceable, the remainder shall remain in full effect.
9. Governing Law These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales and disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the English courts.
